Barcelona achieved a big victory over its host, Elzi, by 4 goals, in the match that was held between them yesterday evening, Saturday, in the 27th round of the Spanish Premier League competitions.
Barcelona’s goals were scored by Lewandowski (two goals), Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres. This victory strengthened Barcelona’s lead in the La Liga standings, with 71 points, 15 points ahead of its closest rivals, Real Madrid, who are in second place.
After the match, Xavi Hernandez praised his player Eric Garcia and his new position as a midfielder (the same position as Sergio Busquets), which he tried against Elche for the first time: “It was Jordi Cruyff’s idea. He’s been saying it to me since last season.”
He added, “I thought about it, discussed it with the assistants, in some training sessions we put him in the midfield position from the inside and last week I tried it in a match against the reserves . ”
